Well I know it is now heading into fall, but in my attempt to get my blog up to date, I must include some summer fun! A large portion of our summer was spent in the west, but here are some more shots of our summer back here! There are a lot of photos, so bear with me!
Because Nathan went back to school in July, there was a fun BBQ to kick off the new quarter. It was super hot and humid, but the kids had a lot of fun. Here is Aida playing with a dog that someone brought.
We went over to the city pool. It was pretty cool this day, so we didn't last too long. Don't you just love the too small swim cover up on Ariah!
They have these free wading pools at a couple of parks here. They are wonderful! They only get to two feet deep, so it is great for the little ones! Ariah loved to float around in her floaty! But she usually got hauled around by some older child, and ended up getting splashed, so sometimes the floaty was short lived.
One of the wading pools is at the park that is just a couple of blocks away, so I would take the kids there a couple times a week after Aida's nap, so that she would sleep well that night! But it benefited all of us, so no one complained! We are really going to miss these when we move next year, I just don't know why every city doesn't do this!
We had a big Popsicle get together with the spouse club out here at a local park. Aida had so much fun playing with her friends, and got absolutely filthy! I don't think I have ever seen her get so dirty in such a short amount of time!
At the state park here there are some Petroglyphs so we decided to go see them one evening. It was pretty cool that some ancient civilization carved these. A lot of them have been defiled, so it was sad to see that, but here is one rock that had a lot of cool images.
While we were looking at the Petroglyphs, we saw a mud digger fly in with a bug twice his size in tow-we think it was a Katy-Did. We watched it take it into his small hole, and I thought it was fun to zoom in with our new camera, and caught the tail end of the Katy-Did.
Here is Nathan with Ariah outside of the Petroglyph display-it's the only shot with him in it!
After we looked at the Petroglyphs we walked over to the lake and played in the sand.
The water was so warm, and the girls loved playing in it!
I found a clam on the shore, and gave it to Aida. I wanted to take it home, but Nathan said it would probably die, so we were going to leave it behind, but I think Aida lost it somewhere before we made it back to the water edge. We were having a great time, but then we were kicked out because there was no lifeguard on duty!
Aida got her first pet this summer...a beautiful blue Beta fish! So I know that the one pictured is actually red-that is because the blue one only lasted about 4 hours! Aida thought it was just sleeping, and we weren't going to go into the whole death thing, so while she napped the next day I took it back to Walmart and got this guy-Louie! She still talks about how Louie used to be blue and now he is red!
We've had a lot of rainy days, and here is my family looking out the window, longing for sunshine!
Both girls love to be outside, but can't always be. So I often times just open the door, and this is the best that they are going to get at that time!
We are really going to miss those warm sunny days by the pool, or playing outside in the yard or park, but are beginning to enjoy the lower temperatures that fall is bringing! Fall is my favorite season, and I can't wait until all of the tree leaves start changing colors!

Wow I though for a second you were crazy color blind, then I remembered that you had to replace the fish. How did that go with Aida was it a death lesson or a magic changing color fish? Your pics are so cute. I need to do a summer summary. By the way that water looks dangerous next time look for a life guard would ya!
The fish story is so funny! I wish we had a magic fish.
