Happy Birthday Aida!

Happy 3rd Birthday Aida!
Aida turned 3 today! She woke up bright an early ready to have fun! We let her open one gift in the morning, and then had her wait until the evening to open the rest.

Excited to finally get to open a gift mom's had wrapped for almost two weeks!
A princess toy? Not according to Aida! It's a pink horse with a girl!
At 4:00 we celebrated by having a birthday party with her friends. When I asked her what kind of party she wanted, she always said a horse party! It was no surprise to me. So I did some brainstorming and this is what I came up with:

When each guest arrived they got to put on a horse tail and a set of horse ears!
The kids wearing their ears and tails.
Heres the girls swooshing their tails!
We tried a game of Horse, Horse, Pony, but when that didn't go over too well, we had stick horse races! Each child earned a fancy medal!

After racing we played Pin the Tail on the Horse!
Some kids didn't want to wear the blindfold, but it was still fun!
Aida's friend Rae got her tail right in the correct spot even with the blindfold!
Next we had the kids play Throw The Ball Through the Horseshoe!
I put it between two chairs so it was the right height. I think the balls were too small and the hole too big! They made it almost every time!
Next we decorated door knob hangers.
All of the kids loved this part!
Then...the horse cake!
Aida being sung to...
...and blowing out the candles!
After cake and icecream, Aida got to open her gifts. It was cute to see how excited all of her friends were to give her the gifts they brought!

Grandpa and Grandma Finch sent Aida this pogo ball that has a plush horse cover! We didn't have a pump to blow the ball up yet, but she loved the horse, and took it to bed with her!

We sent all of Aida's guests home with a bag of fun! The treat bags:Horse Tail (Cow Tales), Pony Tail Clip, Straw Snack (Sour Strawz), Hoof Polish, Fake Hoofs, Pony stickers and Tattoos, Yo-Yo, and Ball Toy!
The boys had a horse toy instead of the "girly" items! We had a great party and we hope that Aida had a great day! We look forward to many more birthdays!

Let me guess...it was my kids that didn't want to wear the blindfold, right?
But, they still wear their ears and tails and love all the fun things that were in the treat bag! Thanks for doing all that--you are so creative. Very cool cake, too!

I've been stalking random people through their blogs and now I've stumbled across yours! Rae still talks about Aida's party. But she did admit to me that she cheated during the pin the tail game. She said she could see out the bottom of her blindfold! I wondered how she did so well!
