Chicago's Field Museum

About three weeks ago, the girls and I had the opportunity to go visit my sister Mel, and her family in Chicago. My sister Miranda was there also, from Idaho. While there, we did so many fun things! Our first adventure was to the Field Museum. It is so fun for kids of any age!

Here is Aida dressed up as a turtle.

Ariah peering through a corn stalk.

Aida playing with, duh, duh, duh...horses!

Aida drumming away.

Ariah and Alivia playing bells.

My little Dino babies.

This is a man eating Lioness from Africa, look how huge she is!

Here is a real mummy, they have an amazing Egyptian display.

Here is Aida on a bed like the ones used to lay the bodies on while getting all of the bodily fluids out with salt. Part of the mummification process.

Aida was afraid of the Polar Bear noises, so her cousin Alivia is reassuring her that they aren't alive, and won't hurt her. She ran from the display, so this took place at another animal display.

Look how huge these Elephants are!

Look at the girls shrunk! There was this fun part that supposedly shrunk us, and took us underground. As you can tell, Aida was a little creeped out by this. She didn't like all the bugs being bigger than her!

Here Aida is still "shrunk", hanging out in a cycada shell.

We had such a fun time here at this museum, and didn't even see half of it. I would love to go back without children and have the time to really read about everything, and have the time to see each exhibit. Aunt Mel was so wonderful to take us here, and we even lucked out by coming on a free day! Yay for free museum day!

What is the name of the ant stuff you were talking about? I am seriously going crazy! They have even been in our bed, only a couple but still!

What a fun museum! I can't wait till Shelby is a little bigger and will like looking at everything. I can't believe Ariah's one now! Ugh...2 more weeks for Shelby. Sad! She's really getting the hang of walking though. I guess it's time.

All I have to say is been there done that! j/k You made me miss Chicago! It is by far my favorite big city! Supposedly Salt Lake is getting a Natural History Museum ,doubt it will be as neat, but hey, I guess it's better than nothing!

By the way, you'd better be posting the results of your residency as soon as you find out, better yet, you should call! Can't wait to find out! :)
