Brookfield Zoo

The last big thing we did in Chicago was go to the Brookfield Zoo. It is so awesome. But the only bad thing is that it is so big that we were only able to visit 5 or so exhibits! But Aida loved it all, and Ariah liked looking at all the animals too.

We started out at a fun children's section which was all hands on for the kids. Aida is petting a gecko in this shot.

Here she is hugging a Giraffe statue.

Inside this children's section there was a place for babies to play. Ariah spent a lot of time here.

Here is Aida taking care of her animals. It is preparing her for her future as a horse doctor!

Here is Aida putting on a fish tank puppet show.

At the swamp exhibit there was a crocodile, but Aida was afraid of the fake noises. But she did pet a crocodile skull.

One of Aida's favorite animals were the otters. They were so fun. They were so quick that it was hard to get a picture of them. Here is Aida pretending to be one, with it swimming by her.

Here we all are posing on a big Gorilla statue.

In the monkey exhibit there was this anteater. I had no idea they were so huge. He was a funny guy to watch.

Here is Aida peeking in one of the areas, you can see a big Gorilla to the right of her. They were the best to watch. I got some video clips of them because they were so active and hilarious. They really are quite human like...it's almost creepy!

Here is Aida by the camels. Surprisingly the one laying down and the one standing on the left were both babies. They were only eight months old! And I thought my babies grew up quick!

Ariah really wanted out of that stroller.

Her wish was granted, and look at the improved attitude.

We were lucky to have gone when there was a baby giraffe. Isn't this the cutest family ever?

There are two lion statues at the park entrance, a famous picture scene! As you can tell.

And here is all of us with the Lion.

We had so much fun here, and were so glad the weather was so wonderful. We only wish we could have seen all the animals. Aida was crying when we had to leave, but we'll go back again some time.

So if you haven't sent the disc I really need some of those pictures, if you don't want to sort, send them all. Reading these posts made me miss everything so much, I almost got teary eyed, maybe I'm hormonal, or maybe the whole trip really was just that awesome! Speaking of awesome in your summary of your trip you didn't mention our exciting all day trip to Missouri!

I love zoos! That is one bummer about where we live now. No zoo, :( There is a wildlife preserve which is ok but we miss the giraffes, monkeys, and elephants. We did see the new Madagascar movie so Kara was thrilled to see animals again. Well, she was thrilled for a short time and then she just wanted to run up and down the aisle.
